Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî (/ˈɘgo/ /ˈg̃ëqa/ [ignorant] [sphere]) is a temperate Large Town located in Salohosu County, Jîkîèdofa Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî was founded by Balcheth Treshèbm, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 17°C (62°F). Overview

Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî was founded durring the late 12th century in fall of the year 1098, by Balcheth Treshèbm. The establishment of Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Balcheth Treshèbm struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî as a prison colony.

Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî is buildings are located arround a single premissive cobblestone mainstreet which forms a clockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. The town's robustly designed timber walls have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are reading. The entire town feels like a library, with those not reading remaining quite to not disturb those who have their nose in a book. The longer you remain in Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî the more you start to wonder if you’ve entered some strange open-concept University rather than a town, but you can’t quite say such with certainty.

Civic Infrastructure

Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî. Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî's natural decorations nor waterways.

Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

While Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî has a public leader, the real authority is hidden from outsiders. This ruler may draw their authority from rationales unacceptable to outsiders, they may have cowed the public authority into obedience, or they may have a mutually beneficial private arrangement with the official ruler.

Êgo-g̈ëqa Bî's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its buildings being predominantly formed through the combination of basic geometric shapes. However, it shown in the detailing given to the structures such as its characteristic tall columns, intricate detail, symmetry, harmony, and balance in their designs to an astonishing degree of precision. Decorative elements for the buildings tended to be built into the structure itself, making great use of fluting, frescoes, inlays, and embossing.
